SHINE!

From April 12-21, join us as we come together in partnership with the LCMS Missouri District for SHINE! This collaborative effort is aimed at serving our community and spreading the light of Christ.

What is SHINE?

SHINE! is more than just an event; it's a movement dedicated to empowering schools and churches to illuminate their communities with the love and teachings of Christ, as inspired by Matthew 5:16. Throughout this week, we invite you to join us in various activities designed to serve those around us. And at the heart of it all is the opportunity for families to engage in prayer walks.

So, what exactly is a prayer walk?

A prayer walk is a simple yet powerful act of faith where individuals or groups walk through their neighborhoods, schools, or other areas, praying for the people and places they encounter. It's a tangible way to lift up our community in prayer, seeking God's guidance, protection, and blessing over every aspect of life.

We encourage all families to participate in a prayer walk, either on their own or by joining one of our association churches. Whether you walk with us on April 15th or choose to embark on your own journey with loved ones, your prayers have the potential to make a lasting impact.

Are there other ways I can serve?

In partnership with our association churches, we have organized a few designated service days that we would love to have you get involved in!

What if none of these dates work for my family?

We would love to impact as much of St. Louis as possible! If you are looking for ideas, our Mission + Outreach team has put together a Service Menu with a list of local needs within our school, community & beyond. Additionally your family can prayer walk around your neighborhood!

April 13: Swaddling Clothes

Date: Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 9:00am-12:00pm (or drop off donations)
Location: Price of Peace Lutheran Church
Questions? Email Katie Fiene at
Organization: Swaddling Clothes with Prince of Peace

Swaddling Clothes is a mission run out of Prince of Peace that gives clothing, diapers, wipes, formula, and other baby related items to families in need.  Once a month families can come in and pick out the things they need for their children.  All of our inventory is graciously donated from members of the community.

Ways to serve: On April 13th from 9:00am-12:00pm we will host our regular shopping day for families in need.  During these hours you can drop off donations of new and gently used clothing (NB-10/12), kids shoes (up to to a kids size 5) or any other baby related item such as bibs, bottles, blankets, etc.  You can also come any time during those hours to help sort and hang clothes, and assemble summer gift bags. You do not have to commit to the whole 3 hours of time.  Any time you have to give will be much appreciated.  We are also collecting donations to assemble summer gift bags to the families who use our center. We are looking for donations of sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and freezer pops.  These items can also be dropped off at the event on April 13, or anytime before then at the church M-TH 9:00am-4:30pm.
